DOUBTING THOMAS

It seems it would have been a lot easier for the disciples to have faith than it is for us today since they had Jesus right there with them, but we read often of their doubts.

Thomas, one of the disciples, did have doubts when told that Jesus had risen from the dead. These doubts were dispelled when Jesus told him to touch his side. Thomas did so and believed. It was at that moment that Jesus made a proclamation that pertains to all of us Christians today. What a unique thought. We are blessed because we have not seen and yet believe.

Scripture:

Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. (John 20:27)

Thomas, because thou hast seen me thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet believed. (John 20:29)

WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED?

The disciples had their doubts also and we are blessed because we have not seen him yet believe.

Our Father appreciates the fact that you are trying. May God’s blessing be upon this

study of His word, Amen.

Susan
