PROTECTED BY TRUTH

It is important for us as Christians to understand that God’s words of truth are the armor that protects us against the dark and wicked powers of evil in this world. As the book of John proclaims in 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Truth in God's word is our protection. That is why it is impartitave that we heed these words of Paul, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2nd Timothy 2:15)

Scripture:
For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. (Psalms 33:4)

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. (Psalms 91:4)

Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:29)

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand, Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness. (Ephesians 6:10-14)

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. (James 1:18)


WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED?
In order to be protected from evil we need to arm ourselves with truth from God’s Word
