Watering the Garden
GOD IS PROTECTIVE OF HIS OWN
In the Old Testament we see that God was protective of his own, individually and as a people, assuring them and us that any enemy of his people would be punished.
Jesus, in the New Testament, describes his children who believe in him as the little ones and declares that angels who have the direct attention of God are watching over them.
Jesus promises that he also gives us power over all our enemies.
Scripture:
And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes. Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. (1ST Chronicles 16:20) (Also in Psalms 105:13-15)
The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. (Psalms 13-14)
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; after the glory hath he sent me unto the nations, which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. (Zechariah 2:8)
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; (which believe in me) for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 18:6-10)
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED?
We who believe in Jesus Christ are protected from and have power over all our enemies and angels are watching over us.
Our Father appreciates the fact that you are trying. May God’s blessing be upon this
study of His word, Amen.
