Watering the Garden
GOD FEELS REJECTION
Our Father understands what it feels like to be rejected. He desired to reign over the children of Israel, but even after all he had done for them, they wanted an earthly king to rule over them like other people had. God felt hurt and rejected.
Jesus Christ also knew what it felt like to suffer rejection. Even most of his disciples disappeared when Jesus was taken by the high priest, put on trial and crucified by the Romans.
Scripture:
But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. (1st Samuel 8:6-7)
And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands. (1st Samuel 10:19)
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Isaiah 53:3)
And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. (Mark 8:31)
WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED?
Our Father has feelings. He feels rejected by those he created. He understands how it feels to be rejected.
Our Father appreciates the fact that you are trying. May God’s blessing be upon this
study of His word, Amen.
